These are two different things. Generation is about how electricity is produced; prices are about what households pay. This section covers generation.
Energy Generation
How electricity is produced (this section)
- Gas, wind, solar and nuclear generation
- Total generation and fuel mix
- Carbon intensity
Energy Prices
What households pay, under Prices & Inflation
- Energy CPI and Gas CPI
- Electricity CPI

Data Source
All electricity generation data comes from the National Energy System Operator's Historic Generation Mix dataset, which provides half-hourly readings aggregated to daily values.
Data includes grid-connected generation only. Embedded generation (rooftop solar, small wind) may not be fully captured. Carbon intensity is calculated from the generation mix using standard emission factors.
