Data sources

ChartView is built on official, publicly available data. We present and visualise this data — we do not own or produce the underlying statistics.

Where the data comes from

The charts on ChartView are compiled from official UK statistics published by public institutions, including:

  • Office for National Statistics (ONS)

Inflation (CPI/CPIH), wages and earnings, the labour market, GDP, public finances and housing statistics.

  • Bank of England

The Bank Rate, monetary policy data and selected interest-rate series.

  • Other government & public datasets

Energy generation and carbon-intensity data, gilt yields and other official statistics published by UK public bodies.

How we use it

We retrieve published series, standardise them into a consistent format, and render them as interactive charts. Where helpful, we add plain-English context so the numbers are easier to understand. We do not alter the underlying values.

Important disclaimer

ChartView does not own the official source data and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the organisations listed above. Trademarks and data remain the property of their respective owners.

Official statistics are sometimes revised or restated after first publication. For critical or decision-making purposes, always check the original source. See our data disclaimer for more detail.
