The UK House Price Index (UK HPI) captures changes in the value of residential properties and is calculated by the Office for National Statistics and Land Registry.
Coverage:All residential property transactions in England and Wales registered with HM Land Registry, plus data from Registers of Scotland and Land & Property Services Northern Ireland.
Methodology: The index uses a hedonic regression model to measure price changes while controlling for the quality and characteristics of properties sold each month.
Publication: Monthly, typically with a 2-month lag.
